Navan Fort “Eamhain Macha” is an ancient monument in County Armagh, Northern Ireland located at 81 Killylea Rd., Armagh BT60 4 LD, Northern Ireland.

Navan Fort “Eamhain Macha” was a royal, ceremonial site that existed from 700 BC to 100 BC. Navan Fort was founded by Queen Macha, a beautiful Celtic warrior queen with golden hair.  During her reign, Navan Fort  was the royal capital of Ulster.  The original site was circular and spanned 16 acres.  The site is also associated with the ancient Celtic warrior Cuchulainn.  In 332 AD the site was destroyed by fire, presumably the result of religious conflict between Pagans and Christians.  What remains today is a large, grass covered mound where visitors can feel the ancient spirits from long ago.
